The Amritavarshini Silk Scarf

Size Guide

The faintest of mute golds on the smoothest silk you can imagine.. adorned with regal botanical motifs in hues of crimson & mustard, interspersed with sage green fronds that are bejewelled with silver leaves.

Our newest print- Amritavarshini, is named after a raga in Carnatic music created by Muthuswami Dikshitar in the 19th century.

Amritavarshini has mystical history.

The name is delivered from Sanskrit words Amrita, meaning Nectar and Varshini, meaning one who causes a rain shower.

Legend has it that the Carnatic composer Muthuswami Dikshitar invoked rain at Ettayapuram, Tamil Nadu, India by singing his composition, "Aanandaamrutakarshini amrutavarshini."

Since then there is a cultural belief that performing or listening to this raga can bring about rainfall. This is one of the most beautiful silk prints we've ever curated and we're obsessed with how beautifully this translates into our scarf.

This scarf can be styled around the neck in multiple ways, as a hair bow or headscarf and looks exceptionally gorgeous tied to handbags or around the waist as a belt.

Silk scarf is made using zero waste techniques from end of roll, printed mulberry silk. Artisanally handcrafted at the atelier using GOTS certified organic cotton thread.

Exquisite. Circular. Biodegradable
